A Sri Lankan court has extended till September 5 the remand of five fishermen of Rameswaram, who were incarcerated at the Jaffna Prison on Wednesday.
They were initially detained on charges of smuggling narcotic substances to the Island country in November 2011. The five fishermen belong to Rameswaram and Thankatchimadam were arrested by the island nation navy after their boated drifted into Lankan waters by a strong gale.
