The prime accused in the murder case of PWD employee Kalawati Jat has been arrested by the police from Jaipur. Police said, “The body of Kalawati Jat, 43, was found buried inside the jungles of Rehana on June 22.” The accused Ghanshayam was presented in a court and taken on police remand. Police said, “An accomplice of Ghanshyam in the crime is still at large. A team has been formed to nab the culprit.”
Barmer: Police arrests two for abducting, attempting to rape minor
Police have filed cases against two persons for allegedly attempting to rape an 11-year-old girl, police said. The victim’s father had filed a case at Shiv police station of Barmer on Friday against Mahendra Singh and Sagat Singh for allegedly kidnapping his daughter and attempting to rape her. According to reports, the girl raised alarm fearing which the duo fled.
Bundi: Resident killed in group clash, police register case against 11
Police have registered a case of murder against eleven persons for murdering Devlal Gujjar, a resident of Anadganj village. Two groups had clashed over land and road dispute in which the Devlal Gujjar was seriously injured. He had died on Tuesday.
Hanumangarh: Woman accuses sorcerer of sexual exploitation
A woman has accused a sorcerer for sexually exploiting her on the pretext of treating her at Chohilawali village in Hanumangarh district. Police have lodged a case and started a search operation to nab the accused. The woman told police that she was infected by a disease that caused aching in her feet. She consulted the sorcerer Satpal hoping that he will cure the disease. She has alleged that on the pretext of treatment the sorcerer used to molest her for past four months and used to threaten her of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
Jodhpur: Supervisor foils planning; school principal arrested for leaking paper
Police have arrested five persons including the principal of a private college in Jodhpur on charges of stealing exam papers for selling it to candidates on Saturday. The accused persons had planned to get the photocopy of Patwari recruitment test papers to sell it to the aspirants for Rs 4 lakh. The examination supervisor, however, foiled the plans.
Jaipur: Anupam Kher performs on stage with his one-act play
“Life is so unpredictable and full of surprises. Kabhi bhi kuch bhi ho sakta hai," said Anupam Kher, actor and theatre artist, who was in Jaipur for an entrepreneurial event on Sunday. Kher presented his famous play, 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai', wherein he solely performed for two and a half hours. "This is one-of-its-kind play. To my knowledge, nobody has attempted such an act ever before," said Kher. Reflecting a wide expanse of experiences and emotions, the play depicts various aspects of Kher's journey as a confused teenager, a rejected lover, his selection into National School of Drama, his first big break as an actor and how success made him take the flight to arrogance, and how failure slowed him down.
Jaipur: 13 local students felicitated by SOF in Delhi
The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) organised a felicitation ceremony on June 27 in Delhi to honour the students who had excelled in the Olympiad exams for academic year 2012-13. In the 16th International Award Ceremony, thirteen students from various schools in Jaipur were felicitated for getting good ranks at international, national and state levels.
Jodhpur: People to receive SMS after their water tank fills
The authorities have geared up to save water. Taking a step forward the local authorities of Jodhpur will enforce GPS system to water gauge. The water board informed that Rs 84 lakh have been allocated to the scheme. Once the water tank fills, a SMS will be received by owner on registered mobile number to switch off the supply to tank and save overflowing water.
