The seeds continued to make the early running at Wimbledon.

New Delhi: Second seed Rafael Nadal won a marathon five-setter that was spread over three days to go through to the fourth round of the Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Nadal beat 28th seed Robin Soderling of Sweden 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 4-6, 7-5 in a match that was interrupted twice due to rain.

Nadal, who reached the final last year will now play 14th seed Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the last 16.

American Andy Roddick also moved on into the fourth round. The number three seed completed his delayed match aganinst Paul Henry Mathieu in straight sets on Wednesday.

Roddick won 6-2, 7-5, 7-6 to move into the last eight. The two time finalist at Wimbledon is likely to meet top seed Roger Federer in the semi-finals.

The seeds continued to make the early running at the Championships as number four seed Novak Djokovic has also entered the last 16 with a four-set victory over veteran Nicholas Kiefer of Germany.

It wasn't easy for the Serb who prevailed in the end with a scoreline of 7-6, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6.

Next up for Djokovic is 2002 champion Lleyton Hewitt for a place in the quarter-finals.
