BANGALORE: Former minister and independent MLA Narendraswamy clarified that his stand against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on corruption was vindicated following the findings of the Lokayukta report on illegal mining in the state.“Recent political developments in the state are nothing short of disgusting,” he said. The former minister who was one of the five legislators to withdraw support to the BJP government in October last, told Express, “When we submitted our resignations to Governor, we were targeted and disqualified from the Assembly.” Recalling those turbulent days when the government came to power with their crucial support, he said that the five independents have decided to remain equidistant from all the three mainstream parties — BJP, Congress and JD(S).On Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s rebellion against the BJP central leadership, Narendraswamy averred that “money power can push people to do anything.” Denying that no faction of the BJP has sought their support, he ruled out “succumbing to any trap” as their earlier bitter lesson still lingering in their minds.
