Mumbai: A speeding Honda Civic left 1 person dead and three injured in the Kandivali area of Mumbai on Friday. The car hit an auto and then rammed into a bike. The driver Sakshi Parikh has been booked under section 304 A of IPC and has been taken into custody. Parikh is a TV actress.
The mishap occurred at about 11 AM at when the car rammed into a motorcycle and subsequently into an auto-rickshaw. The biker was critically injured, police said, adding that the rickshaw driver and two passengers travelling in his vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to nearby Bhagwati Hospital.
Parikh has also suffered minor injuries, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahesh Patil. "She said that she accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of
breaks which led to the accident," the DCP added. She was arrested for rash driving and her blood samples were taken to examine if she was under the influence of alcohol while driving, police added.
