Bangalore: Karnataka Forest Minister Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli's son Suryakanth Patil shot at a man in a pub in Bangalore on Saturday night.
The injured man -- Ratan Kumar -- has been admitted to a hospital.
The Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bangalore, M C Narayana Gowda, says it could be a case of accidental firing. Ratan Kumar is not in a position to give any statement.
Suryakanth has been arrested by the Bangalore police.
Police said Suryakanth, along with some friends was having dinner on Saturday night in a hotel when an altercation broke out.

As they came out of the hotel after dinner, Patil allegedly fired from his licensed revolver which hit Ratan Kumar who was entering the hotel.
Kumar was taken to a hospital where the bullet was removed from his body.
