TIRUCHY: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers M K Alagiri revisited the Tiruchy prison on Thursday to meet his close aide ‘Attack’ Pandi, whom he could not see on Wednesday, as visitors for those booked under the Goondas Act are allowed visitors only on Thursdays. The DMK south zone secretary’s ‘out-of-the-way’ gesture of driving down to Tiruchy to specifically meet Pandi surprised everyone, raising doubts if Alagiri fears any betrayal, especially, after younger brother M K Stalin met him in jail.Amid reports that his close aide ‘Pottu’ Suresh is ready to part ways with him, Alagiri possibly wants to avert a similar change of mind in Pandi. What he could lose or gain by Pandi’s change of loyalty has become a matter of speculation in police and political circles here.
