BERHAMPUR: Getting out of jail would not be easy for Subhashree Panda (Mili), the wife of Maoist Sabyasachi Panda, even after the Orissa High Court quashed the legal proceedings in the Khurda lower court. She was denied bail in a case pending against her in Rayagada. Amidst tight security Mili was produced before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) in connection with a 2003 case on Friday. The Gunupur SDJM, Sasmita Padhi, remanded Mili to jail custody  in a firing between police and the Maoists in January 2003 near Kutinguda under Gudari block in Rayagada district. In the crossfire Maoist Rita was killed and some policemen were injured. Gudari police  had registered a case wherein Mili was stated to be involved.  The SDJM rejected the bail plea filed by her lawyer D. Bramhananda Patnaik and remanded her to Gunupur jail with an order to produce her on ensuing October 24 before SDJM Court, Gunupur. While being taken to jail Mili claimed innocence before the journalists present outside the court. She alleged that her arrest is a conspiracy by State Government.
