Lucknow: Postmortem report of the 25-year-old woman whose mutilated dead body was discovered in the Mohanlal Ganj area of Lucknow on Thursday has confirmed rape, police said on Friday.
Taking note of the crime, Lucknow Additional Director General of police, Sutapa Sanyal said that investigations are underway to nab the perpetrators.
"The victim has been identified but so far no one has come forward to claim the body. Four investigation teams are working on the case. We have not apprehended anyone but questioning is on", she said.
The police also said that more than one person was involved in the murder and has confirmed that according to the postmortem report, multiple injuries were found on the body but there were no stab wounds.
The body was found not far from the village visited by former US President Bill Clinton earlier this week.
