Lok Sabha Elections Phase 7 Polling On June 1 : Check List Of Constituencies And Key Candidates
Voters from 57 constituencies across eight states and union territories will cast their votes on Saturday

The seventh and final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for Saturday, June 1. During this phase, voters from 57 constituencies across eight states and union territories will cast their votes.

The constituencies are located in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Chandigarh. According to the Election Commission’s guidelines, voting will begin at 7 am and end at 6 pm.

Narendra Modi (BJP) vs Ajay Rai (Congress) from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking a third term in Varanasi, having won the previous Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019, while Ajay Rai, a former BJP leader, joined Congress in 2012.

Kangana Ranaut (BJP) vs Vikramaditya Singh (Congress) from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

In her first election as a politician, actress Kangana Ranaut from the BJP is contesting against Congress’ Vikramaditya Singh, son of the late former CM Virbhadra Singh. Mandi is a stronghold of the Singh family, and the seat is currently held by Vikramaditya’s mother, Pratibha Virbhadra Singh.

Anurag Thakur (BJP) vs Satpal Singh Raizada (Congress) from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh

Union Minister Anurag Thakur is contesting against Congress candidate Satpal Singh Raizada. The BJP leader first became an MP from Hamirpur in 2008 after his father’s resignation and subsequently won three more elections from the seat in 2009, 2014, and 2019.

Ravi Kishan (BJP) vs Kajal Nishad (Samajwadi Party) from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh

Actor Ravi Kishan, the BJP candidate, is up against Kajal Nishad from the Samajwadi Party. In 2019, Kishan defeated SP candidate Rambhual Nishad with over 60 percent of the vote share.

Abhishek Banerjee (TMC) from Diamond Harbour, West Bengal

Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, is contesting from this TMC stronghold. He faces a three-way contest with CPI(M)’s Pratikur Rahaman and Abhijit Das of the BJP.

Misa Bharti (RJD) vs Ram Kripal Yadav (BJP) from Pataliputra, Bihar

Misa Bharti, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Yadav, will go head-to-head against sitting MP Ram Kripal Yadav, who is vying for a third consecutive term. Misa Bharti has lost to Ram Kripal Yadav twice, in 2014 and 2019.

Preneet Kaur (BJP) vs Dharamvir Gandhi (Congress) from Patiala, Punjab

Four-time sitting Patiala MP and the wife of former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, Preneet Kaur, is contesting for the first time on a BJP ticket against Dharamvir Gandhi. Gandhi won the Patiala seat in 2014 as an AAP candidate by defeating Kaur, who was a Congress candidate back then. Gandhi joined the Congress in April.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal (SAD) from Bathinda, Punjab

Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former Union Minister and wife of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, is the three-time sitting MP from Bathinda, having won this seat since 2009. She is pitted against AAP’s Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, BJP’s Parampal Kaur Sidhu, Congress’ Jeet Mohinder Sidhu, and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) nominee Lakha Sidhana.

Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP) vs Anshul Avijit (Congress) from Patna, Bihar

Former Union minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad will contest against Congress’ Anshul Avijit, the son of former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar. The Patna Sahib seat has been a stronghold of the BJP, with the party winning it with a 55 percent vote share in 2009 and 2014. This increased to 60 percent in 2019, a victory secured by Prasad.

Charanjit Singh Channi (Congress) from Jalandhar, Punjab

Dalit leader and former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi will contest against Mohinder Singh Kaypee (Shiromani Akali Dal), Sushil Kumar Rinku (BJP), and Pawan Kumar Tinu (AAP). In 2019, the Congress emerged victorious in Jalandhar, with its candidate, Santokh Singh Chaudhary, winning the seat by about 19,500 votes. However, the Congress MP passed away during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra following a heart attack. As a result, in the by-election of 2023, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was able to win the seat.
