On September 1, Kuki militants used an ambulance as a cover to infiltrate a Meitei village in Manipur under the guise of essential emergency services. The Kuki militants then killed a 31-year-old woman and injured ten others in Koutruk, Imphal West District, by dropping bombs from drones. Now CNN-News18 has come across a video purportedly released by the Kuki attackers.
The celebratory video shot inside the ambulance calls the militants involved “the heroes of today’s attack”.
“They are our pride and our brave youth. This is Leimkhong Area Protection Committee coming back after attack in Koutruk. This is our tiger company which is eating because they are hungry. They are still sitting inside the ambulance and it’s too dark this side. They are still working so hard. This is how we Kukis are living and surviving. The same way we celebrate after the attack. Long live our youth,” says the video.
News 18 earlier reported that the ambulance used by the Kuki militants has been identified. According to top intelligence sources, the ambulance was reportedly traced back to the Leimakhong area.
According to the number plate (MN01BA 0300), it is a Force Motors vehicle. It is registered in the name of KSO General Headquarters, which is a charitable organisation. The vehicle was purchased in February 2022.
