Kiran Bedi not invited to BJP meet to review poll debacle
Majority of the leaders said they felt that bringing in the former IPS officer just three weeks before the elections was a "bad move".

New Delhi: Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday did not invite Kiran Bedi, who was its chief ministerial candidate for the Assembly elections, to a meeting where party leaders analysed its humiliating defeat here at the hands of Aam Aadmi Party.

At the meeting, which went on for two hours, senior BJP leaders reviewed the party's performance in the polls with the majority of them saying they felt that bringing in the former IPS officer just three weeks before the elections was a "bad move".

Clarifying as to why Bedi was not invited for the meeting, a senior BJP leader said that only the party's state office- bearers had been called for it and, since Bedi was not one, she had not been asked to attend.

At the meeting, all 22 office-bearers and 14 district presidents were invited to analyse the party's poll debacle.

Party leaders felt that delaying the declaration of the names of candidates and "failure" to enthuse grassroots workers had also been factors behind BJP's poor showing in the Assembly polls.
