Kids make film on Tsunami disaster
Four children from Nagapattinum in Tamil Nadu, got behind the camera and captured their way of looking at the Tsunami disaster.

Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu): Tsunami, floods and then the threat of a cyclone ? things have not been easy for the people of Tamil Nadu. Their houses have been flooded and almost everyone has suffered loss of life or property.

In these times of despair, four children have done more than what the entire administration of Tamil Nadu has done to evoke compassion and consideration for the affected people.

The children, who hail from Nagapattinum in Tamil Nadu, got behind the camera and with a little help from filmmaker Govind Nihlani, captured their way of looking at the Tsunami disaster.

The photographs and the short film made by these children affected by the Tsunami showcase their views for the first time.

The result was a heart wrenching 16-minute film and a photo exhibition that was inaugurated in New Delhi on Monday evening.

They feel that because they have been in that situation, their way of expressing the feelings of the people is much more effective than anyone else's.

The film and the photographs show that the people of Tamil Nadu are ready to drop the tag of Tsunami afflicted and that the devastation caused by the wave of terror has not snuffed out their desire to carve an identity of their own.

What's your reaction?
