Jammu: Pakistan fired at 35 Border Security Force posts in Ramgarh area in Samba and Kanachak area of Akhnoor, violating ceasefire for the third day in a row during the wee hours of Sunday.
Pakistani Rangers fired at Indian posts along the International Border throughout the night, prompting BSF jawans to respond effectively.
Firing was also reported in the RS Pura and Arnia sector of Jammu. RS Pura sector has been witnessing ceasefire violation from Pakistan for the last two days.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met DG, BSF, Intelligence Bureau chief, Home Secretary and other top officers and discussed the matter with them. DG BSF told CNN-IBN," We don;t fire first. BSF fires at Pakistan only after being provoked."
In wake of the repeated firing from Pakistan, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley had told the nation that the Indian Army was responding to each of the violation from the neighbouring country.
Two civilians were killed on Saturday in Pakistani firing.
