Ivanovic stuns Sharapova, enters final
Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has reached her first Grand Slam final after she stunned second seed Russian Maria Sharapova.

New Delhi: Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has reached her first Grand Slam final ever after she stunned second seed Russian Maria Sharapova at the French Open semi-final on Thursday.

It was a match that made one wonder where was this talent all along.

The Serbs at the French Open have shocked all by making it to the semi-fnals. But we are pretty sure no one was more dazed than Sharapova in her match against Ana Ivanovic.

Before the second seed could gather her wits, her 19-year-old opponent steamrolled her way to a 5-1 lead in the first set. Ivanovic powered her way to win the first set 6-1.

Things did not look up for the Russian in the second set as well. And this time Sharapova tried her best to innovate.

But the errors just kept flowing, making her father at the stands unhappy. There was nothing he could do though, especially if he did not wish to cough up another fine.

And soon the dream came to an end for one, and the biggest moment came true for the other.

It would be unfair to say it was not one of Sharapova's days, because in truth, Ivanovic made sure it wasn't.

What's your reaction?
