CHENNAI: Innovators of Indian Society (IIS) celebrated their fourth anniversary recently in the city. The Society was founded in 2007 by six friends, who had a common goal of serving society. The Society, moreover, is also registered under the Tamil Nadu Society Act 27, 1975.“So far, we have adopted three kids. One of them is studying in SIT college, while the other two have gotten into CPT college. Our focus is to provide education to poor children and make sure they receive proper schooling,” said S Ramasamy, President, IIS.The Society has also been helping NGOs in the city, two of which are Annai Karunai Illam and Vallalar Karunai Illiam. Apart from social work, IIS has also been actively organising blood donation camps and tree plantation drives every year. “We have planted about 83 plants in and around Chennai till date,” added Ramasamy.
