New Delhi: The awards season is upon us and this is the time when the best of Indian cinema is judged, reviewed rewarded for entertaining us in the past year. 2013 has seen a mixed bag of films comprising both popular and art house cinema. In our maiden initiative, we have selected nominees in various popular categories and will let our readers decide the outcome. The year 2013 may not have seen the release of several animated film. However, the movies that were released were good enough to entertain the viewers and help them forget their worries. Chhota Bheem and the Throne of Bali: The animated film is based on the popular character Chhota Bheem and his friends. 'Chhota Bheem and the Throne of Bali', the sixteenth movie in the Chhota Bheem series, was distributed by YRF and released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu.
Main Krishna Hoon: This 2013 partly animated film was directed by Rajiv S Ruia. While the film featured star Juhi Chawla, Paresh Ganatra, and child artist Namit Shah, it also saw guest appearances by Bollywood bigwigs Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif . The film was about how Hindu god Lord Krishna, who appears as an animated character, assisted an orphaned boy named Krishna.
Mahabharat: This animated Indian mythological drama film has been directed by Amaan Khan. Based on the epic 'Mahabharat', the film featured Bollywood biggies Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn, Vidya Balan,Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Deepti Naval dubbing for their animated characters. Released on the same date as that of 'Dhoom: 3', the film lost the box office battle to the Aamir Khan starrer. Mahabharat was Made on a budget of Rs 50 crores.
