BHUBANESWAR: A day after State Vigilance slapped a notice on IAS officer Prafulla Chandra Mishra, his counsel appeared before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, here on Saturday and filed a time petition. Now Mishra is likely to appear before the court on August 17. Earlier in the day, his counsel submitted that the IAS officer is away attending to his ailing mother. He sought more time for Mishra to appear before the court. About the officer not accepting the court summons, the counsel said the summons were addressed to the Settlement Commissioner whereas Mishra is Commissioner, Consolidation. The IAS officer, accused of indulging in financial irregularities during his stint as CMD, Orissa State Beverages Corporation, had not accepted any summons for the last three months prompting the court to order for pasting a ‘latka’ notice at his residence.
