Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi on Tuesday bringing respite to people of the national capital from humidity. Incessant downpours also resulted in severe water logging at several places leading to traffic congestion.
Severe waterlogging was reported near Ashram Bridge following continuous rainfall. On Minto Road, waterlogging caused parked vehicles to become submerged.

Over the past 24 hours, up to 08:30 IST on August 20th, Delhi experienced significant rainfall. The Ridge received 72.4 mm, Safdarjung recorded 28.7 mm, Lodi Road experienced 25.6 mm, and Ayanagar had 2.2 mm.

Water logging was also witnessed at Connaught Place in Delhi.

School Bus Gets Stuck At Minto Bridge Underpass, 3 Children Rescued
Meanwhile, three children were rescued from a school bus which got stuck in the waterlogged Minto Bridge underpass in northwest Delhi following heavy rainfall.
According to a PTI report, an autorickshaw was also stuck in the underpass.
According to the officials, no one was injured in any of the incidents as rescue teams quickly reached the spot. The water is being pumped out, an official said.
IMD Predicts Rainfall Across Delhi-NCR
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread light/moderate rainfall for the entire Delhi and southwest NCR on Tuesday. IMD has warned of a moderate-to-intense spell over Central and East Delhi in the morning hours.

The Met Department has predicted heavy rainfall over the Jammu division on Tuesday. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are also likely to witness heavy downpours during the next 2-3 days.
Heavy rain spell is likely over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh today and over Rajasthan from August 22 to August 25, 2024.
