Haridwar: The CISF has been handed over the security of Ramdev's Patanjali Food and Herbal Park in Haridwar in the wake of the death a person in a clash between the establishment's guards and supporters of a local truck union.
The food park's administration has paid the Centre for availing services of the paramilitary force. One company of CISF jawans was deployed there two days back, Superintendent of Police, Haridwar (City), Surjeet Singh Pawar said.
One person was killed in the clash last month between the security guards and supporters of the truck union who were protesting against the park engaging truck operators from outside of Haridwar for transporting products to the market.
They wanted the park's management to assign the job to local truck owners.
Ten persons including yoga guru Ramdev's brother Rambharat were arrested in this connection. Rambharat is still in jail as he failed to secure bail.
Ramdev's close aide Acharya Balkrishna had earlier said that they would ask the Union Government to provide central forces for the security of the park.
