ROURKELA: As many as 19 persons suffering from gastroenteritis have been admitted to hospitals in Luakerea on the outskirts of Rourkela.As per reports, residents of Luakera on Wednesday evening developed diarrhoea-like symptoms and a medical team visited the area in the night. On Thursday, the team again visited the area and screened people who came in contact with the affected persons. They were given oral doses as a precaution.Sundargarh Chief District Medical Officer S C Patel said 11 patients were admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital, six to the Ispat General Hospital and one each to Hi-Tech and ESIC. This apart, 13 out-patients were treated. He said the situation was under control and all preventive measures were being taken.
