The City shadow police arrested a person on Sunday who was found selling ganja at Elamkulam.
Joy, 51, was found selling ganja which was stocked in his autorickshaw. The police said that he usually did his transactions during the night hours.
Joy, who mostly sold it to the people who arrived at dance bars in the city, was arrested near the premises of a star hotel here based on a tip off received by DCP Gopalakrishna Pillai.
He was found possessing ganja cigarettes and cash worth `3260. In another incident, the shadow police arrested a Malappuram native Shereef, 53, involved in the sale of ganja on the route leading to the Vallarpadom Church.
He is found guilty of selling the ganja to shopkeepers, lorry drivers and boat staff. Shereef had 30 packets of ganja during his arrest.
