New Delhi: Even as its stand-off with University Grants Commission (UGC) continues, Delhi University on Wednesday announced that entrance test to Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), a course started under controversial Four-Year Undergraduate Programme, will be held on Thursday as scheduled.
"This is to inform all applicants of BMS Programme of University of Delhi that the entrance test for the same will be held as scheduled between 3 PM and 5 PM on 26th June, 2014," DU Registrar Alka Sharma said in a statement.
The notice, however, said, "In case, there is any change in admission guidelines by the competent authority, the same test will be valid for Admissions-2014 to such a programme." DU's media-coordinator Melay Neerav said, "BMS was introduced last year by the university under the four-year undergraduate programme."
BMS has attracted a large number of applicants for its 840 seats. Delhi University has decided to go ahead with the entrance test for BMS even though admissions to other courses have been deferred due to the settlement between DU and University Grants Commission over the continuation of FYUP.
