Speculations are rife that a cheaper iPhone model and a large-screen iPad may also be unveiled alongside the iPhone 5S launch.

Mumbai: The Hon Hai Precision Industry, known mostly by its trading name Foxconn, reportedly needs as many as 90,000 new workers at its plant to work on the upcoming Apple iPhone. Sources in Apple's supply chain told Focus Taiwan that additional workers are needed at Foxconn's Shenzhen complex in Guangdong Province to fulfil the large orders coming from Apple for the new version of the iPhone.

Some of the other Hon Hai production plants in China where Apple products are put together include Zhengzhou in Henan Province, Taiyuan in Shanxi Province and Chengdu in Sichuan Province.

We weren't completely unfamiliar with this new development, since it had been reported earlier this month that Foxconn had begun the process of recruiting workers to work on this next-gen Apple smartphone.

A report on China Business News had confirmed that a recruitment firm with a Hon Hai unit in Zhengzhou in the Henan Province had begun the hiring workers on a large-scale to work on the production of the upcoming Apple iPhone.
