KADAPA: Four women caught a cheat after a hot chase on Monday. According to information, E Venkataramana of Settipalle village in Sambepalle mandal collected Rs 5,000 each from 20 women of Garnimitta village of KV Palle mandal in Chittoor district, promising them Rs 1.5 lakh loan from the TTD which need not be repaid.
Village women leaders Ramadevi, Ramanamma, Subbalakshmi, Nagaratna, who mobilised money from 16 other women, gave the total amount to Venkataramana. When he failed to get loans sanctioned for them, the women started pressurising the quartet seeking money.When the four women went to Settipalle and confronted Venkataramana, he told them documentation process was on and it would take more time.

On the pretext of getting loans sanctioned for them, he took the women to several places in the district. Finally, they came to Tirupati. He kept the women in a lodge and tried to escape in an auto. Suspecting foul play, the four women chased him in another auto and caught hold of him at Kallur crossroads in Chittoor district. Unable to face the women's wrath, Venkataramana promised to return their money and took them to Rayachoti. On reaching Rayachoti, he tried to project them as his kidnappers and got admitted himself in government hospital. Realising that Venkataramana cheated them again, the women lodged a complaint in Sambepalle police station against him.
