HYDERABAD:  Former president of Student Islamic Movement of India Syed Salahuddin, who is an accused in the November 21, 2002 Dilsukhnagar Sai Baba temple bomb blast case,  was sent to 15 days’ judicial remand by the Nampally court here on Tuesday.Senior Crime Investigation Department officials said they would move a petition in the Nampally court on Wednesday seeking 14 days of police custody of Syed Salahuddin.The former SIMI chief was brought to Hyderabad from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on a transit warrant by CID officials. Salahuddin is charged with conspiring with eight other persons in executing the blast in the temple, which killed two persons and injured nearly 20 persons.CID officials said that Salahuddin had been absconding ever since the bomb blast took place. He fled the country and went to Dubai. He told the CID officials that while he was in Dubai, he worked as a civil engineer.“During his stay in Dubai, Salahuddin was involved in fraud and the  local government there deported him to India. Upon landing at the Kochi international airport he was arrested and shifted to Madhya Pradesh where he was wanted in a pending case. He was brought to Hyderabad on Monday.Salahuddin was earlier arrested by Madhya Pradesh for making a provocative speech.  Of the nine accused, two persons- Azam Ghori and Syed Aziz- were killed in separate encounters while a few others are still at large.
