THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Environmental activist Medha Patkar said that officials of the Plantation Corporation, corporate groups, political forces and agricultural scientists should be brought before law for the endosulphan tragedy in Kasargod.She was inaugurating a protest by   endosulfan victims in front of the Secretariat on Monday. The protest was organised by the endosulfan victims popular front (Edosulfan Peeditha Janakeeya Munnani) demanding relief and rehabilitation of the victims.Medha Patkar said that in the name of development, what took place in Kasargod was the destruction of the farming community.The front demanded that all persons affected by the pesticide be declared  victims and be given financial assistance. It also demanded setting up of a tribunal and free medical aid.Medha released the Malayalam translation of the book ‘Silent Spring’ by A Pradeep Kumar by giving a copy to Ambikasuthan Maangad, the author of ‘Enmakaje’.B R P Bhaskar, C R Neelakantan, K S Abdulla, D Sundaresan, Vellanad Ramachandran, V Harilal,  Vilayadi Venugopal, D Surendranath, M A Rahman, Ambikasutan Mangad and Shaji Jacob, among many others spoke at the protest.
