New Delhi: Debut director Kannan Iyer's new film 'Ek Thi Daayan' plans to take horror to a new level by bringing back the folklores of daayan (witch) on screen. And, with a big star cast and promising promos, the film has been able to draw audiences to the theatre. The film collected Rs 6.24 crore on its opening day.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#EkThiDaayan Fri 6.24 cr".
After a long time, a director has been able to bring the story of witchcraft to the silver screen and that too with a backing from a renowned Bollywood production house.
It is for the first time that Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor have come together to produce a film. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles.
