Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor is currently basking in the success of her latest blockbuster Stree 2. To celebrate the film’s 50-day milestone in theaters, she paid a visit to the Sai Baba Mandir in Shirdi on Friday, October 4, to seek blessings.
Shraddha took to social media to share glimpses of her temple visit, while the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust Shirdi also documented the occasion. In the photos, Shraddha, dressed in a traditional yellow outfit, is seen offering prayers with folded hands and posing in front of Sai Baba’s idol. The temple trust also honored her during the visit, sharing pictures on their official Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has outdone industry expectations, making history with its remarkable performance at the box office. The film crossed the Rs 600 crore mark in just six weeks, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and claiming the title of the highest-grossing Hindi film. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror-comedy is now recognized as an all-time blockbuster, and it continues its successful theatrical run, reaching a “half-century” in cinemas.
On its 50th day, the film added Rs 0.50 crore to its total earnings, bringing its worldwide collection in India to Rs 840.10 crore. The production house, Maddock Films, celebrated the film’s success on Instagram, posting, “A half-century of spooks and laughs! This Stree is not leaving anytime soon! Stree 2 sets the record for the highest number of cinemas on its 50th day! Thank you for all the love and support!”
Speaking to Femina about the success of the film, Shraddha Kapoor shared her personal definition of success: “For me, success is not defined by conventional measures. At this moment, as I speak with you, it’s about savouring a delicious meal, cherishing moments with my family, and nurturing meaningful relationships… To me, true success means having loved ones close, enjoying restful sleep, thriving in my work, balancing life, and being mentally at peace.” She also credited her father and aunt for instilling in her the importance of not taking things for granted.
Stree 2 continues the story of its predecessor, with the town of Chanderi now haunted by a new entity, Sarkata. Featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead, the film takes the horror-comedy genre to new heights, combining a gripping plot, laugh-out-loud moments, and spine-chilling scares.
The stellar supporting cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, return from the first film, while special appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia further add to the film’s charm with their impeccable comic timing.
There are also reports that the makers are planning a spin-off centered around Shraddha Kapoor’s character, exploring her backstory and relationship with Stree.
