THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Election Commission has announced the schedule to renew the voters’ list of the Assembly constituencies by including those who turn 18 on January 1, 2012. The draft voters’ list would be published on October 7. The copies of the draft voters’ list can be obtained for scrutiny from Collectorate, taluk and village offices and the officers who are in charge of the polling booths. Applications for adding a new name, relocating a name to another constituency or to another booth within the same constituency, raising objections against the draft list and rectifying the mistakes can be made from October 7 to November 1. The Indian nationals residing abroad can also apply for adding their names to the list. The applications should be submitted to the respective village or taluk office.Special arrangements would be available on October 16, 23 and 30 at the respective polling booths to receive the applications. Applications can also be submitted online at www.ceo.kerala.gov.in. The online applicants can select a date from the list of the dates to appear for the hearing. Final list would be published on January 5, 2012. The electoral identity cards would be distributed on January 25.
