KOCHI: Government doctors will be able to apply for their preferred district at the time of tran-sfer. This was announced by Health Minister Adoor Prakash at a meeting convened to evaluate the preventive measures taken to control communicable disease out-break in Kothamangalam. The minister said when new appointments of doctors are made by the health department, steps will be taken to ensure that the doctors will be allowed to choose their districts. At the meeting, the minister gave instructions to the District Collector to form monitoring committees against the outbreak of communicable diseases. The minister said the Indian Medical Association has offered complete support to conduct medical camps as part of the immunisation drives in the district and to start special wards for fever patients.
