THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A doctor, who was a member of the Medical Board appointed by Kottayam District Collector to examine the condition of Shari, the victim of the Kiliroor rape case, during her final days, deposed before the CBI Court here on Wednesday that she might have had Septicemia, a life-threatening infection after undergoing surgery at the Kottayam Matha Hospital.The doctor, Sajith Kumar, gave this statement during witness examination of the case before the court. The court examined the statements of other doctors, including E Mercy and Sobhana Devi, both members of the Medical Board, M C Prakash, the radiologist, who conducted Shari’s scan and Dr Ajay Kamath, who attended to Shari at Carithas Hospital before she was shifted to the Matha Hospital. Former Sub-Inspector of Kottayam West Police Station, Sugathan, who was part of the investigation team of the local police, too deposed before the court.
