HYDERABAD: The officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation presented a draft of 'City Disaster Management Plan' before the National Disaster Management Authority at a workshop, held here on Saturday.The GHMC commissioner, MT Krishna Babu, in his power-point presentation of a rough draft of city disaster management plan, said that the plan involved the departments of fire, health, traffic, police, road and buildings. The draft plan focused on disasters of flood, fire, building collapse and traffic problems. The points of the draft are on: trained and dedicated members of city disaster management with quality equipment, fire prevention, flood control drains, disaster control room, standard operation procedures, emergency operation centres, alarm mechanism and work 24/7. The commissioner also said that the GHMC will come up with a new concrete plan based on suggestions by experts and NDMA in four to five months.
