New Delhi: A special cell of Delhi Police arrested a Dawood aide and a notorious criminal Atiq from Mumbai. Atiq had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head.
Screws are tightening on India's most wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim as the Dubai Police are soon expected to deport 12 of his trusted aides, including two key accused of the 1993 Mumbai bombings, a senior police official had said last month.
In November, the arrest of 10 henchmen of Dawood by Mumbai Police Crime Branch had sparked speculation about a possible split in the ranks of Dawood gang. The Mumbai Police arrested them after they were sent to India by the authorities in Dubai.

Following the arrest, Mumbai was abuzz with rumours about a crack in the D-gang. There were also speculation that Dawood simply did away with these men as he didn't need them any more.
While Mumbai police maintain that it’s a high-profile catch, sources indicate that the arrests might not be that huge a blow for Dawood.
However, for the Chhota Shakeel gang – a breakaway of the D-company -- the arrests undoubtedly come as a huge blow. Two brothers-in-law of Chhota Shakeel are among those arrested.
