Delhi: Anna Hazare to receive Rs 25 lakh award
The 74-year-old social activist will receive an award for his contribution to rural development.

New Delhi: Social activist Anna Hazare will receive an award for his contribution to rural development, at a function in Delhi on Thursday. Delhi's Lt Governor's Tejinder Khanna will present Anna with Rs 25 lakh prize and a citation.

Meanwhile, Team Anna will be holding their core committee meeting also later in the day.

Anna returned to his native village Ralegan Siddhi on February 18 with core committee member Arvind Kejriwal, after taking ayurvedic treatment at a hospital in Bangalore for persistent cough, backache and swelling on hands and feet.

Anna had left Ralegan Siddhi on January 29 and went to a Gurgaon hospital for a thorough check-up, after which he went to Bangalore on January 31 and was there till February 18.

Team Anna has been campaigning across Uttar Pradesh during the ongoing Assembly Polls asking voters to not vote for corrupt politicians.
