THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Muraleedharan MLA inaugurated the five-day-long dance fete Natyolsavam-2011 organised by the Guru Gopinath Natana Gramam at the Nishagandhi Auditorium here on Wednesday evening. In his inaugural address, K Muraleedharan said that all support from the government would be assured to elevate the the upcoming National Dance Museum on the premises of the Guru Gopinath Natanagramam at Vattiyoorkavu to international standards. “The dream of Guru Gopinath would be made true,” he said. Mayor K Chandrika was the chief guest on the occasion. Following the inauguration, a stellar performance of Kerala Natanam by a 14-member team of Guru Gopinath Natana Gramam enthralled the packed auditorium. Noted Kathak dancer Rajendra Gangani, along with a team of eight, presented a ‘Kathak’ performance, which provided an exhilarating experience to the viewers. In the coming days, Irula Nritham, Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Seethankan Thullal and various other dance forms will be performed part as of the dance festival. The event is being organised by the Guru Gopinath Natana Gramam. The event will conclude on Sunday.
