KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday granted bail to three accused in the case registered in connection with the murder attempt on journalist V B Unnithan. Justice K T Sankaran granted bail to second accused Mahesh alias Punchiri Mahesh, fourth accused Shafeek and sixth accused Santhosh alias Container Santhosh.The prosecution case is that the accused hatched a criminal conspiracy for murdering Unnithan. They attacked Unnithan on April 6 and were arrested on May 17. The bail amount was fixed at `50,000 each and two solvent securities of the like amount. They should surrender their passport and have to appear before the investigating officer on every Monday and Thursday. They were further directed not to enter the limits of Sasthamkotta police station for three months.However, the state government told the court that it had issued an order entrusting the CBI to investigate into the case.
