JEYPORE: District Congress unit kicked off its campaign for the panchayat polls with a roadshow at Ambaguda of Jeypore block in the tribal-dominated Koraput district on Monday.Former Congress MLA Taraparasad Bahinipati spoke at length about corruption in the  BJD Government of the State. He also promised that the Congress would work for the needy if the party retains the seats. Hundreds of activists of Jeypore and Borigumma block attended. The BJD led by MLA Rabi Naryan Nanda, on the other hand, has started mobilising its workers in villages under Jeypore and Borigumma blocks.The fate of Koraput Zilla Parishad hangs heavily on these two blocks.  The workers have been asked to take the good work of the State Government to the people. Party sources said roadshows in various areas in the district will be organised in a couple of days.Meanwhile, at an election review meeting, Collector SR Yadava directed the polling officials to be alert about violation of poll code.
