NEYYATINKARA: A government employee residing at Kanjiramkulam has alleged of police excess and registered a complaint with the Neyyattinkara DySP in this regard. The complaint was registered by Rajesh V M, an employee of the Legal Metrology Department.According to Rajesh, his brother Rajendran, who was a newspaper agent, had registered a complaint with the Kanjiramkulam police after his bicycle was stolen.In the complaint, it was said that the newspaper boy who had been working under him was suspected to be behind the theft. Even after five days the complaint was lodged, police were inactive in probing this issue. So Rajesh, on behalf of his brother Rajendran, went to the police station on Tuesday morning to enquire about the progress of the investigation.Rajesh alleged that the Kanjiramkulam SI behaved in a rude manner and manhandled him in front of his brother. But the SI refuted the allegation and said that he had just asked a few questions to Rajesh about the theft. After that both the brothers left the station. He also said that the allegation of police torture was fabricated. Rajesh was admitted to Neyyattinkara taluk hospital with injuries. Later, a complaint was filed with Neyyattinkara DySP P Gopakumar alleging police torture. The DySP said that a complaint on police torture had been received and action would be taken after a thorough probe.
