BANGALORE: Winding up her deposition before a special court here, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday completed answering all 1,339 questions. She has also filed a detailed written statement to the Special Court along with several documents and has termed the allegations as “politically motivated and fabricated” and filed at the instance of political rival party DMK.Appearing before Judge B M Mallikarjunaiah for the fourth time at the Special Court in Parappana Agrahara, she answered 192 questions in the proceeding, thereby concluding her deposition before the court. She had replied to 580 questions on Tuesday. She had also, earlier, appeared before the court on October 20 and 21 and had replied to 567 questions.Speaking to reporters after the proceedings, B V Acharya, advocate general of the State and also the Special Public Prosecutor in the case, said that Jayalalithaa had filed a very detailed statement along with several documents to the court. “She asserted the case was fabricated at the instance of DMK, which came to power in 1997 and hence it was a politically motivated case.”Further he informed that Jayalalithaa in her statement had said that the case was taken up and the court ordered an inquiry under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on the basis of a false complaint by Subramanian Swamy. “She also told the court that the search made in one of her houses was illegal as the search warrant was obtained only to search her 31/3 Poes Garden residence. She also termed the searches of all her properties in Hyderabad as “illegal” as the court had no right to issue a search warrant for properties outside Chennai,” he added.She has also mentioned in her statement that the then law minister Madhavan and DMK leader Arcot Veerasamy interfered in the investigation and hence the investigation by the police officials was illegal.Jayalalithaa’s senior counsel B Kumar, said that she answered all questions correctly and to the point. After the proceedings, the judge adjourned the hearing till November 29 and the statements of Jayalalithaa’s close associate Sasikala, who is accused number two in the case, would be recorded on that day. The hearing will be held at regular special court situated in the City Civil Court Complex.
