Mumbai: The CBI on Friday carried out a reconstruction of the murder scene of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar at the location in Navi Mumbai where he was shot dead.

MP Padamsinh Patil, who was arrested on June 6 and is presently in police custody, was also taken for the reconstruction of the murder scene, official sources said.

The reconstruction was carried out by investigators and members of the forensic team of the Central Burea of Investigation (CBI) which has come to the city from Delhi for investigations in the case.

The team also took Nimbalkar's vehicle to the site of the murder and examined the burnt vehicle which was allegedly used by the killers of the Congress leader, the officials said.

Nimbalkar and the driver of his car Samad Kazi were killed by gunmen in June 2006 in Navi Mumbai.

Five persons, including Patil, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in carrying out the murder.

The CBI officials have also not ruled out carrying scientific tests like narco-analysis and brain mapping on Patil if he does not co-operate with the investigators.
