CBI granted 4-day custody of Rajan

CHENNAI: The Special Judge for CBI Cases in Chennai has granted four-day custody of C Rajan, Additional Director General of theDirectorate of Revenue Intelligence, and his driver Murugesan, who were arrested on March 7 on graft charges, to the CBI from March 9. The two should be produced before the court on March 12, T Ravindran, also the IX Additional Sessions Judge, said on Friday. Besides, directing the CBI to provide necessary food, shelter and medical assistance to the accused, the Judge told the agency  not to inflict cruelty, both physical and mental, and permitted Rajan to meet his lawyer in the evening hours.
