Catholic Education Association stages fast

PUDUCHERRY: The Pondicherry Catholic Educational Association (PONCEAN) staged a fast here on Thursday, demanding implementation of a Government Order (GOMs-No 86, dated  21-7-2006) to approve the appointment of staff in sanctioned posts to enable them to draw salaries from the date of appointment.Former CM Vaithilingam and ex-education minister Joseph Mariadoss addressed the nearly 2,000 protestors who gathered near the Swadeshi Cotton Mills.
