KOCHI: The Media and Cable Operators Association (MOCA) has urged the state government to take immediate action to issue licences to local cable networks.The MOCA State Conference, which was inaugurated by Minister for Power Aryadan Mohammed here on Monday, raised a couple of other demands that included: Making changes in the power tariff scheme of cable TV operators, quashing the increment in annual fee levied for using the KSEB’s posts and preventing the move to make the free-to-air Malayalam channels paid. Also, journalists working for the cable-TV-network channels should be given similar benefits enjoyed by those working for satellite channels, the associationdemanded. C P Muhammed MLA, M B Rajesh MP, Palakkad district president T N Kandamuthan, Pattambi block panchayat president K C Manikandan were also present.
