BHUBANESWAR: Four persons died and over 35 were injured when a tourist bus veered off the Dhauli Hills and fell into a gorge on the outskirts of the City on Tuesday. Police said the bus was coming down from the Dhauli Stupa when it skidded off the ghat road and fell into a 20-foot gorge while negotiating a sharp curve. The bus was carrying around 40 tourists from Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. Police said the driver apparently lost control over the vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Laxmipriya Mandal (26), Taruni Devi Mahato (55), both from Sareikala in Jharkhand, Dujaram Bareth (50) from Chhattisgarh and 80-year-old Somnath Ray from Kolkata.
