Bardhaman (West Bengal): Actor Bobby Deol's performance in Shaheed may have won him critical acclaim, but the Deol puttar is certainly not in the good books of Bengalis.
West Bengal government on Monday withdrew the controversial Bengali text book, Shahid Bhagat Singh, from the one of the state's academic curriculums.
The reason? The text book contains a picture of film star Bobby Deol as Bhagat Singh.
While announcing that the book "stands withdrawn", School Education Minister Kanti Biswas added that the Bardhaman disrtrict Book Review Committee had earlier recommended the inclusion of the text book.
It was included in the curriculum under the Universal Education programme for schools in Kalna sub-division.
