New Delhi: Former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto has said that she may allow US military to strike inside Pakistan to eliminate al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden if she comes back to power, reported BBC on Tuesday.
"I would hope that I would be able to take Osama bin Laden myself without depending on the Americans. But if I couldn't do it, of course we are fighting this war together and (I) would seek their cooperation in eliminating him," she told the channel.
Bhutto is slated to return to Pakistan on October 18 after living in self-imposed exile for eight years, her party Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had announced last month.
Bhutto, who has been living in self-exile in Dubai and London since 1999, last month held a meeting with Musharraf in Abu Dhabi on a possible power-sharing arrangement.
The talks between the two sides were reportedly stalled after Bhutto insisted that the bar on a person serving as prime minister for more than two terms be lifted.
Bhutto, who was prime minister from 1988-1990 and 1993-1996, faces graft charges in Pakistan.
