CHENNAI: A team of four automobile engineering students from Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology have recently designed an Internal Combustion (IC) engine powered radio controlled car that is fuelled by nitro-methane. In fact, the design won them the first place at Mechanica’12, an inter-collegiate competition, conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras. G Ponmanikandan, G Parthiban, P Thirumalai Rajan, R Niranjan and S Koushik say they owe their success to their faculty at the college. They also thanked their guide, professor, Dr A Kumara Gurubaran, head of the automobile engineering department, for helping them make their dreams come true.
