Mumbai: Aruna Shanbaug who has been in a vegetative state for more than 40 years, has now been put on ventilator support.
Aruna Shanbaug is battling a serious bout of pneumonia and is breathing with the help of the ventilator. She is in Mumbai's KEM hospital.
Doctors said her condition is critical but stable.
Aruna was a nurse when she was brutally raped by a hospital staff member in 1973. She has been in a vegetative state since then.
