HYDERABAD: Though the party strongly believes that the resignation of 29 MLAs poses no real threat to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, state Congress leaders have, at the behest of the high command, begun efforts to see that no other MLA from the party joins the YSR Congress.PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana and chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy have asked district in-charge ministers and several prominent leaders to advise the MLAs from their respective districts not to take hasty decisions that might harm the party. The leaders also got in touch with Telangana Congress leaders and urged them not to support corrupt forces or precipitate matters with resignations or agitation for their regional cause.Congress leaders think Assembly speaker N Manohar will take a decision on the resignations only after holding several rounds of hearings. In the mean time, the PCC chief will probe the minds of several Congress MLAs who are inclined to join the Jagan camp and try to dissuade them from leaving. The PCC president and the chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy do not view the resignations seriously. “Some forces are trying to destabilise the government by luring MLAS with money but the Congress is not scared by such tactics,’’ Satyanarayana said.As part of his regular exercise, the PCC chief on Monday apprised AICC secretary in charge of state Congress Krishna Murthy of the latest developments in the party and the state.
